Membership
Membership is about being planted in the house of God.
At River Church Brisbane, membership is not about having your name on a list — it’s about being planted, known, covered, and connected. It means you have chosen to make this your church home, to grow in faith, build meaningful relationships, and partner with the vision God has given us.
As 1 Peter 2:5 says, we are like “living stones”, built into a spiritual house — each person with a place, purpose, and part to play.
“You yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ”. 1 Peter 2:5

What Membership Means for You
- You’re planted – this is your church home, and we are your covering.
- We are your pastors – we do life together as a family.
- We’ll be praying for you, and we’d love you to pray for us and for the church.
- As a member of the family, you partner with the vision through prayer, sowing, and serving, as the Lord leads you in each season and according to your gifts.
- You’ll also receive members-only updates, access to members only training, and key church information.
The Word of God places a high value on stability, consistency, stewardship, fellowship, and faithfulness. Being planted in a church community allows us to flourish, — it is about being rooted, growing, contributing, and showing up as part of the Body of Christ.
"The [uncompromisingly] righteous shall flourish like the palm tree [be long-lived, stately, upright, useful, and fruitful]; they shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon [majestic, stable, durable, and incorruptible]. What Membership Means for Us
As pastors, we are called to watch over and care for the flock and that means you!

- As your shepherds, we watch over our flock with willing, faithful oversight. (1 Peter 5:1-2)
- We are committed to spiritually feeding and guiding you through teaching and spiritual care. (John 21:15-17)
- We protect the church by guarding against false teaching and helping to keep your walk pure. (1 Timothy 1:3; 1 Timothy 6:3-5)
- We equip you to grow and serve and help you mature in faith. (Ephesians 4:11-13)
- We lead by example with humility and integrity. (Matthew 20:25-28)
